The short version: Be honest, be kind, don't use this to harm anyone. Your content is yours. We're here to preserve it.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
Everything you upload to Lineage Vault belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your photos, stories, videos, or any other content. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and deliver your content solely for the purpose of operating the service.
You are responsible for having the right to upload content you share.
You agree not to: upload illegal content, harass or harm other users, impersonate someone else or create fake family profiles, attempt to access other users' vaults without permission, or use the platform for commercial purposes without written consent.
Memorial profiles are sacred spaces. Any harassment, inappropriate content, or desecration of a memorial profile will result in immediate account suspension.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time — your access continues until the end of the billing period. We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days notice.
We work hard to keep Lineage Vault available. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give you at least 12 months notice and full tools to export all your content.
Memorial profiles are permanent. When a vault transitions to a memorial after a user's passing, their profile, uploaded content, and memories remain on Lineage Vault indefinitely — for future generations to visit and remember them. Memorial content is never deleted.
You can designate content to be delivered after your passing. We will carry out these instructions as set up in your account. Please keep your posthumous settings current.
We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time. Your personal account data will be deleted within 14 days. Memorial profiles remain permanently.
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.
